Bafana Bafana international Cassius Mailula recently confirmed his exit from Botola Pro League outfit Wydad Athletic Club where he was playing on loan.
The 24-year-old struggled for game time at the Major League Soccer side Toronto FC, before the then Red Castle coach Rulani Mokwena gave him an opportunity with the Moroccan team. In the concluded campaign, Mailula played 36 games with a return of six goals and seven assists.
His latest engagement was in the FIFA Club World Cup where he played three games and scored a goal.
I have unfinished business with Toronto FC

“You can’t block an opportunity to come back home just yet, and also it depends on what they’re offering, what’s their plan with me,” the former Mamelodi Sundowns attacker said in his latest interview with Metro FM.
“I wouldn’t say I’m going to close that door because you never know in football. For me, it would be nice. But also I know I that I’m very ambitious and my goal and my dream is to still go to Europe, and for me, firstly, I’ll start looking at what's out there in Europe or in other big leagues.
“For now, I’m still contracted to Toronto, I’ve got to respect them, and I know that I still have a lot to offer them. I feel like I’ve got unfinished business with them.”
Kaizer Chiefs or a return to Sundowns?

Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs are in the market for players, and have so far unveiled three. With the transfer window ongoing, Mailula was asked whether he would consider a return to the Premier Soccer League, specifically playing for Amakhosi.
“I love Sundowns; I love Sundowns, Sundowns is home,” he responded.
“I think even the president and the chairman know that is my first love. Before I can think of other things or teams, I’ll obviously start with Sundowns.
“After that, if things don’t go well in terms of negotiations, then I can think of other things. But for me, Sundowns is my home,” he concluded.
