Stellies put two, among them ex-Chiefs target, in the market

Lesiba Nku, Stellenbosch

Stellenbosch are keen on losing two players, yet again, despite releasing some top ones in the recent transfer window.

Sihle Nduli (Orlando Pirates), Shaakir Ahmed (released) and Brian Onyango (released), Ismael Toure (FC Baniyas), Thulani Mini (released), Tylon Smith (QPR, England), Faiz Abrahams (Hapoel Kfar Saba, Israel – Loan), Fawaaz Basadien (Mamelodi Sundowns), Anicet Oura (IF Gnistan, Finland), Kyle Jurgens (Durban City) are the players that left Stellies.

According to iDiski Times, “Steelies have placed striker Lehlohonolo Mojela, who had been linked to Kaizer Chiefs in the past, and midfielder Lesiba Nku up for sale and ordered the duo to train away from the senior team.

“Stellenbosch aim to cash in on both Mojela and Nku in the coming window and the duo will leave the Cape Winelands side should suitors put a price that will meet Stellies demands.”

Former Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs left-back Bongani Sam is set to join another Premier Soccer League side after successful trials.

“Defender Bongani Sam has agreed a deal in principle to join Chippa United on a free transfer,” SABC Sport reported.

“The 28-year-old has been training with the Chilli Boys for several weeks in hopes of earning a contract following his departure from Kaizer Chiefs after just one season.

“A return to his home province in the Eastern Cape now offers him a much-needed fresh start, albeit at a struggling team,” they concluded.

Starlet gets pro-contract at Arrows

“Talented youngster Mlondi Mtshali has signed his first professional contract with Premier Soccer League side Golden Arrows,” iDiski Times reports.

“At just 15, Mtshali has already gotten exposure of the first team atmosphere though he is more likely to be deployed in Abafana Bes’thende’s DStv Diski Challenge squad for the season.”

Former Pirates defender joins amateur outfi

Former Orlando Pirates defender Katlego Ramonyai is set for a new challenge with the Western Cape ABC Motsepe League side Hout Bay United.

“We’re delighted to confirm the signing of defender Katlego Ramonyai! Welcome, Katlego,” they confirmed in a short statement.

Ex-Chiefs coach goes Zimbabwe

Takunda Benhura Zimbabwe

AmaZulu coach Arthur Zwane is set to bolster his squad with Zimbabwe international striker Takunda Benhura who is contracted to Ngezi Platinum.

The former Amakhosi tactician believes Benhura, who scored 13 goals for the Zimbabwean outfit in 2023 to help them win the league, is seen as a man to provide the much needed experience in the team.

“The two clubs have reached an agreement, with Benhura signing a two-year deal with an option to extend, which will begin on 1 January when the transfer window opens,” iDiski Times reported.

“He’s now set to join compatriot Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya at the club who joined in the off-season from FC Platinum and has scored four goals in his first eight league games.”

Ex-Chiefs duo sign for Pirates

Ayanda Rorwana, Kaizer Chiefs

Orlando Pirates have signed forme Kaizer Chiefs duo Mthokozisi Balakasi and Ayanda Rorwana for their Gauteng ABC Motsepe League for the 2025/26 campaign.

Both loanees were developed at Naturena’s structures but did not fully transition to join their senior team despite being tipped as future South African stars.

The Amakhosi loanee duo had been tipped to rise and become stars at the club but they didn’t realise their potential. For instance, Rorwana played for the reserve side alongside Njabulo Blom, Samkelo Zwane, and Happy Mashiane.

Balakasi has also been showing glimpses of brilliance but he just couldn’t make the cat. The two will now play for Pele Pele hoping to eventually realise their potential and play in the Premier Soccer League.

Have Chippa found Eymael’s replacement?

Coach Luc Eymael confirmed his exit from Chippa United that left many fans by surprise.

“I have not been fired but we parted ways on a friendship agreement,” he told iDiski Times.

“I’m thanking a lot the Chippa fans, and I’m thanking a lot the players for the positive inputs in the training session in the game, despite doing some small mistakes that cost us. But the guys never give up. They always work until the end, like you saw against [Marumo] Gallants, for example, because we deserved the point, like you saw against Polokwane [City]and like you saw against Sekhukhune [United].

“And yes, for the same price, we should have had three points or four points more, should have been fair. We have not been lucky also and I also thank the Chairman for giving me chance to be back here in South Africa,” Eymael concluded.

According to the same publication, Vusumuzi Vilakazi is the new man at the club, “He was roped back in and completed the training at Chippa on Wednesday morning alongside Sporting Director Sinesipho Mali after leaving his role at Kruger United,” they reported.

Ex-Chiefs man Obua set for coaching role

Former Kaizer Chiefs player David Obua is in line to take over as the head coach of the Ugandan Premier League outfit NEC.

The position might fall vacant after the current coach, Mbalangu Hussein, breached the discipline code, which led to his suspension.

“Head Coach Mbalangu Hussein has been suspended due to professional and ethical misconduct, effective immediately. In the interim, James Odoch will assume the role of Head Coach,” NEC stated on their website.

Reports from Uganda indicate NEC might opt to do away with Hussein and pave the way for the former Amavubi star, who has not been with a team since April 2024, when he was released by URA.

Ex-South Africa international resurfaces in a lower tier outfit

Judas Moseamedi

Former Bafana Bafana striker Judas Moseamedi is seemingly set to join Motsepe Foundation Championship outfit Black Leopards.

The 31-year-old, who has initially played for Cape Town City, Stellenbosch, among other teams, was a free agent after leaving Venda FC at the end of the 2024/25 season. He was let go despite playing a crucial role in ensuring the team was not relegated.

“Moseamedi has been training with Leopards for the past two weeks. He also featured in one of the friendly matches in Leopards colours during the October FIFA international break,” FARPost reported.

“However, it appears the club has not decided on whether to sign the 31-year-old. Leopards have struggled to score this season with just three goals in their opening five matches. This is despite the club having the likes of former PSL top goal scorer Mwape Musonda and Namibian international Bethuel Muzeu in their ranks,” they concluded.
