Kaizer Chiefs Transfer News: Mayele confirms Amakhosi contact!

Published on by

Kaizer Chiefs have been desperately hunting for an experienced striker to help them score goals regularly.

At the start of the season, Ranga Chivaviro, Ashley du Preez, and Christian Saile – who has since joined SuperSport United, failed to deliver. In the January transfer window, Tashreeq Morris was brought on board to help solve the problem, but things haven't worked out as expected, with the lanky striker still looking for his first goal for the club.

The Democratic Republic of Congo striker Fiston Mayele has been consistently linked with a move to Amakhosi. The Pyramids FC striker has been scoring consistently in the last couple of years and played a massive role in helping his team reach the Caf Champions League final against Mamelodi Sundowns.

The 30-year-old has conceded the Glamour Boys made contact, but refused to say more, insisting he is focused on the game against Masandawana.

Not the right moment to talk about it

“The coach [Nabi] was in contact with me in December, but it’s not the right moment to talk about it,” the forward opened to the media ahead of the first leg of the Caf Champions League final to be played at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Saturday.

“I am focusing on the final and the rest, we will see after the season. I’m very [willing] to help because I always try to help the team to win. I’m a player who tries to help the team. I'm very happy that I was the player who scored the last goal against Orlando.

“I’m happy to play in the final, it’s the first final in the Champions League for the club and I’m ready,” Mayele concluded.

Reports have it that the Glamour Boys are set to part ways with Ranga Chivaviro once the season concludes.
