Kaizer Chiefs Transfer News: International striker wants PERMANENT move to Amakhosi

Kaizer Chiefs will definitely be aiming to strengthen their striking department ahead of the 2026/27 Transfer window.

In the last campaign, they signed Flavio Silva and Etiosa Ighodaro permanently, but brought Khanyisa Mayo on loan from CR Belouizdad. The technical team and the coaching department expected the trio to lead the Soweto giants to glory this season.

Injuries to Ighodaro and Mayo, who has been out on several occasions, have seen Silva being used frequently by co-coaches Cedric Kaze and Khanyisa Mayo. The towering forward has seven goals in 21 appearances for the Glamour Boys across all competitions.

Former Mamelodi Sundowns Ighodaro has a goal in seven matches, while Mayo has managed to score just one goal in 12 outings in all tournaments for the club.

Mayo wants Kaizer Chiefs!

Mayo came for one season after Sead Ramovic stated he had no plans to have him for the 2025/26 campaign. Prior to his exit to Algeria, the striker had wished to play for Kaizer Chiefs.

He now hopes he can get his wish by getting a permanent move to the Naturena Village after his loan deal expires. He insists he is okay at the club and has what it takes to deliver.

“I can’t say [being on loan] is putting me under pressure. The pressure is always there; I was born into a family of pressure,” Mayo said as quoted by FARPost.

“When you represent an institution like Kaizer Chiefs, expectations are a constant, so I don’t think it’s something I can’t handle. As the season progresses and I get my opportunity, I intend to seize it and prove that I belong here permanently,” he concluded.
