Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has included four Kaizer Chiefs players in his preliminary 2026 World Cup squad.
Broos released his preliminary squad on Thursday and among those included is Chiefs goalkeeper Brandon Petersen, defender Bradley Cross and Thabiso Monyane as well as midfielder Lebohang Maboe.
The four have enjoyed a good season, helping Chiefs to third place in the PSL, with Petersen the most instrumental, having kept 15 clean sheets this season.

Who else made the Bafana World Cup squad?
Meanwhile, Orlando Pirates have nine players with Kamogelo Sebelebele among them as Patrick Maswanganyi also makes a return to the national team after being overlooked since June 2025.
Mamelodi Sundowns also have a large number of representatives with eight with Iqraam Rayners included as well as Thapelo Morena.
One notable absentee is defender Siyabonga Ngezana, whose situation was revealed by his FCSB coach early in the week.
