Kaizer Chiefs unleash 2025-26 kits as inspiration behind unique jersey is revealed

Kaizer Chiefs have unveiled their new jersey for the 2025-26 season which they hope will inspire them to success.

Chiefs, together with their kit sponsor Kappa, have unveiled new African inspired home and away kits, as they begin the third year of their partnership with the Italian brand.

According to the club, the new kits merge football with culture, as both home and away tops represent a bold celebration of the game beyond the pitch and are rooted in African art and creativity.

What is unique about the 2025-26 jersey?

“The home jersey is bright and unapologetically Kaizer Chiefs – with a primarily gold body, in keeping with the hue of the Glamour Boys’ traditional colours, adorned with striking black patterns on the sleeves,” the club said via a statement on Monday.

“This classic design also includes a stylish black collar with contemporary designs that reflect the culture of Amakhosi.

“The away jersey promises to be a huge hit, following in the footsteps of its popular predecessors -the green & gold from the 2023/24 season, and the black & gold of last season. This year’s away kit introduces a striking grey & gold design incorporating subtle camouflage patterns that will excite both supporters and fashion lovers alike.

“It is inspired by the textures of the animal skins used to create traditional shields of African warriors. While undoubtedly fashionable, it also epitomises Amakhosi’s battle-readiness for the upcoming domestic and continental season,” the statement further read.

Chiefs marketing and commercial director Jessica Motaung is thrilled by the new offering and believes it will inspire the Glamour Boys to success in the upcoming season as they challenge domestically and on the continent.

“It promises to be a great season ahead with the Club celebrating our 55th anniversary by winning a major trophy and qualifying for CAF competition, which were some of the goals we had set for ourselves when the year started,” she said.

“With this in mind, we returned to our roots with the home jersey, staying true to the colours we are known for.

“The away jersey always allows us to play around a bit and we are proud of the camouflage-like design that represents the shields and the garments worn by Africans during traditional events. It's a symbol of fashion, art and creativity that will be worn by hardcore football fans as well as general fashion enthusiasts.

Chiefs’ ‘jersey doesn’t just play, it represents’

“The process of designing and selecting the kits for the team during our first two seasons with Kappa have been wonderfully creative and the response from supporters has emphatically confirmed that. We expect an even better response this year,” she added

“As we say, the jersey doesn’t just play, it represents. We have come up with jerseys that the players will find comfortable to play in while looking resplendent when they take to the field this season.

“With the new jerseys, tracksuits, polo shirts, t-shirts, bags and caps, Amakhosi supporters are guaranteed to draw envious glances from opposition fans for their style and panache,” Motaung concludes.

Price and where to buy 2025-26 Chiefs kits

The kits will be available for purchase from Kaizer Chiefs Retail at the Village in Naturena, Kappa retail stores around the country, online at www.kcdigistore.com and other leading sporting retailers from Monday, July 21, 2025.

“Given the tough economic times we live in, we have have kept the jersey price the same as last season to ensure that as many supporters as possible can get these stylish jerseys for the upcoming season,” said Ricky Joseph, Director at Kappa South Africa, of the jersey that will retail at R1,299 each.
