In a landmark development for South African football, Kaizer Chiefs have officially launched their long-awaited women’s team, fulfilling years of anticipation from supporters.
Fans have consistently urged the club to establish a women’s side, viewing it as a crucial step in elevating the women’s game across the nation. The club has now responded by acquiring the Gauteng Sasol League status of Springs Home Sweepers.
This move formalises a strategic relationship that began in 2023 and evolved into a full partnership in 2025. The new team, named Kaizer Chiefs Ladies, will compete in the Sasol League, South Africa’s second-tier women’s competition.
