Pyramids FC attacker Fagrie Lakay has been linked with a return to South Africa, notably Kaizer Chiefs.
The 27-year-old has been consistent for the Egyptian outfit since joining them from Cape Town City. Since 2022, Lakay has played 118 games across all competitions, scored 33 goals, and provided 11 assists in the process. This season, he has played 11 matches for the Egyptians and has been directly involved in four goals – two strikes and as many assists.
His exploits have seen him being linked to the Glamour Boys who are rebuilding under coach Nasreddine Nabi. Amakhosi are targeting quality players to help them get back to their best and reclaim their rightful place in Mzansi football.
‘I'm not leaving Egypt soon'

“I would like to stay on this side of the world for as long as possible and maybe move back home at a later stage in my career,” Lakay said as quoted by iDiski Times.
Lakay has been struggling to get into the Bafana Bafana squad, but he is happy with what they have achieved. Especially getting the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations ticket. He has further promised to continue working harder and convince coach Hugo Broos to consider him in future.
“Very, very proud of what they achieved! It was amazing to watch. Yes definitely, like I told you before, it’s always an honour to play for the national team and that’s definitely the aim — to get back there.
“I just need to continue working hard and scoring and the rest will follow.”
