What each side needs

The first leg finished 0-0 on 18 October, after a 30-minute lightning delay. A goalless 90 minutes in Pretoria would send the tie to penalties, while any score draw puts Wiliete through on away goals. That makes a win the only outright route to the group stage for Sundowns, whose group stage opens on 27–29 November.

How Mamelodi Sundowns arrive

Sundowns lead the Betway Premiership with 23 points from nine games and have won three and drawn two of their last five matches in all competitions, scoring nine and conceding three. They beat Orlando Pirates 2-0 in the MTN8 final on 10 October and Richards Bay 4-1 three days later.

Khuliso Mudau is out with a ruptured Achilles for at least six months. Teboho Mokoena is a doubt with a ligament problem, Ronwen Williams (knock) missed the first leg and Aubrey Modiba also missed it, though the team doctor says it is not serious. Coach Miguel Cardoso led the club to last season’s CAF Champions League title, beating AS FAR 2-1 on aggregate in the final.

How Wiliete SC arrive

Wiliete led the Girabola, which was unbeaten after six games, and finished second in each of the last two seasons. They have won three and drawn two of their last five matches in all competitions, scoring nine and conceding one, with four clean sheets. No injuries or suspensions have been reported. Coach Beto Bianchi, a Brazilian who joined in July 2026, was without a goal against the defending champions in Lubango.
