Mamelodi Sundowns Transfer News: Mokoena decides on Masandawana future

Mamelodi Sundowns have lost some influential figures in the ongoing Premier Soccer League transfer window.

Peter Shalulile (Released), Jayden Adams (Deceased), Terrence Mashego (Stellenbosch, Loan), Thapelo Maseko (FC Copenhagen, Denmark), Thato Sibiya (Lille, France), and Miguel Reisinho (Released) are no longer part of Masandawana.

Questions were asked about teenage sensation Bennet Mokoena who has been doing relatively well for the defending CAF Champions League winners when given a chance.

Last season, the 19-year-old scored 22 goals for the club’s DSTV Diski Challenge, which saw him win the Golden Boot. There have been teams that have been chasing the youngster.

Mokoena’s future made clear

“We’ve done a new deal for him [last year], which has committed his mid-term future to Sundowns, and he’s just turned 19,” Mike Makaab, who is the player’s agent, told iDiski Times.

“I see his future at Sundowns, but I also see Bennet as a precocious talent; if he makes the right progress in line with his potential, I think he can end up playing at a major football club [abroad].

“He has the youthful arrogance about him – he can play in spaces; there are things that can improve, but it will come with time.

“I was incredibly impressed with how he handled the crowd and the occasion in the recent game against Kaizer Chiefs. I’m super excited about his future – really exciting,” he concluded.

Antonio van Wyk (SV Ried, Austria), Siyanda Ndlovu (Golden Arrows), Ricardo Goss (return from Loan), Cassius Mailula are the new faces so far.
