Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed the signing of defender Khulumani Ndamane from TS Galaxy, making him their third recruit in January.

Sundowns, who have already brought in winger Monnapule Saleng and Colombian striker Brayan Leon have added Ndamane to their list of signings, ending speculation over the future of the highly-rated young defender.

Ndamane has become one of the bright prospects in South African football with impressive performances for the Rockets which earned him a place in the Bafana Bafana team to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Sundowns welcome defender Ndamane

At just 21, the central defender has been earning rare reviews and has been heavily linked with a transfer to Sundowns since the off-season.

“New colours, new journey. Khulumani Ndamane has officially joined the Yellow Nation. Welcome to the Home of the Champions,” Sundowns posted on social media while welcoming the defender.

This came moments after Galaxy had issued a farewell message to Ndamane, confirming his transfer to Chloorkop.

“Thank you, Khulumani Ndamane, for your professionalism, commitment, and passion during your time with us. You represented the badge with pride and gave your all on and off the field,” the Rickets said.

Ex-Chiefs star to fight it for a starting place

“As you take this next step in your career and join a new club, we wish you nothing but success and continued growth. Once a Rocket, always a Rocket. All the best in your new chapter.”

Ndamane starred for Kaizer Chiefs’ DStv Diski Challenge team in 2023 and by 2024, he joined Galaxy as a free agent, while Given Msimango went the other way, as he was looking for regular game time.

He leaves Galaxy after making 42 appearances for the club, including 15 this season, and will have to fight it out for a starting place in coach Miguel Cardoso’s team.
