Mamelodi Sundowns have reportedly requested the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to switch their CAF Champions League final first leg date from May 15 to May 17.
Sundowns are scheduled to host Moroccan side AS FAR Rabat on Friday, May 15 at Loftus Versfeld from 18:00 (SA Time) but there are fears that the game might not attract many fans due to the day and time chosen hence a desire to play it on Sunday, May 17 from 15:00 at the same venue.
It remains to be seen if the request will be accepted by CAF although it does not alter the second leg which is slated for May 24 at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Miguel Cardoso concedes that his team had it rough against Richards Bay at the Umhlathuze Sports Complex where they played out a goalless draw and nearly lost.
Sundowns could not break a well-organised Richards Bay who exposed them on the counter and only failed to win due to some poor finishing.
“This team of Richards Bay is a team that fights, it’s not the way they play because they don’t play, but they are aggressive on the transition especially on the moments when we need to put everything into trying to get the points. But we left it,” Cardoso said as per KickOff.
“We didn’t score here and there and then of course we took the responsibility of trying to shift the victory in the last stages and we exposed ourselves so that’s what it is.”
Why Chiefs could have a final say on title race

With Mamelodi Sundowns failing to take advantage of Orlando Pirates’ slip-up against Kaizer Chiefs, it could be the turn of the Buccaneers to benefit.
Pirates and Chiefs played out a 1-1 draw on Sunday, opening the door for Sundowns to go to the summit, but a goalless stalemate with Richards Bay left the Soweto giants top of the table.
However, with Chiefs playing Sundowns on May 6, they could do Pirates a great favour if they win or draw, perhaps sending the title race down to the final match of the season.
