Mamelodi Sundowns lost their most recent Premier Soccer League fixture 3-2 against TS Galaxy on Tuesday at the Mbombela Stadium.
The defending champions needed maximum points to keep their chances of winning their ninth crown in a row high, but that was not the case. They struggled to keep the determined Rockets out, with Orlando Pirates benefiting.

As a matter of fact, the Soweto giants will be crowned on Saturday if they beat Durban City at the Orlando Amstel Arena. This will be their first South African top-tier title since the 2011/12 campaign.
Masandawana will be at home on Sunday, against AS FAR Rabat in the first leg of the CAF Champions League final. Zimbabwe international Divine Lunga concedes losing against TS Galaxy was hurting, but remains confident that amends will be made this weekend at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria.
Good mood at Sundowns despite defeat

“Losing is part of football, but after the match the coach spoke to us to pick us up. I think the guys are in the good mood cause you have to understand that in football you lose, draw and win. We will do our best,” Lunga told the media.
Last season, the Brazilians lost to Pyramids in the final, and Lunga explains how they will ensure the same doesn’t happen this year.
“We have been playing semis, the final and that has been pushing us to bring the trophy home,” he added.
“It’s been a decade and we need it this season, more than anything cause last season we were there. We will push ourselves, put our A game to try and win the match,” the defender concluded.
