Matsatsantsa have made a key addition to their squad to bolster their defence

SuperSport United have confirmed their first signing after unveiling defender Pogiso Sanoka.

The 32-year-old joins Matsatsantsa from TS Galaxy where he was captain and will shore up Gavin Hunt’s backline as they look to tighten things at the back in 2024-25.

SuperSport were porous in defence last season after letting in 33 goals and Hunt has made defence a key area that needs strengthening.

“It’s a privilege to join this beautiful club. I would obviously like to win more trophies with Matsatsantsa. It feels good being a Spartan,” said Sanoka.

SuperSport looking to improve clean sheet & defensive record

SuperSport are getting an exceptional and experienced defender who made over 100 appearances in his four years at Galaxy and was one of the reasons they achieved an impressive seventh place finish in the PSL last season.

Sanoka played all 30 PSL games last season and also helped guide the club to the Carling Cup final before losing out to Stellenbosch FC.

“Pogiso brings experience and versatility to our back-line. He has had two great seasons at TS Galaxy where he was a key figure in their defensive unit. We are looking to him and our defensive recruits to ensure that we improve our clean sheet and defensive record,” said SuperSport CEO Stan Matthews.

Winger Shandre Campbell has left Matsatsantsa for Belgian giants

The defender has signed a two-year contract with an option for another.

Meanwhile, SuperSport have confirmed the departure of winger Shandre Campbell to Belgian side Club Brugge.

The teen sensation has signed a three-year contract and will start at Club NXT, the youth academy for the Belgian giants.
