Former Kaizer Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt has expressed his confidence that Fiston Mayele can lead Amakhosi to treble should they land his signing.
The DRC international has been on Chiefs’ radar since his days at Young Africans before he joined the Egyptian club, Pyramids.
Mayele is said to be keen on playing for Chiefs having also worked with the latter’s head coach Nasreddine Nabi who arrived at the club at the beginning of the season.
The 32-year-old striker has been on hot form also this season both in the domestically in Egypt and CAF Champions League.
He scored a brace against Orlando Pirates in the semifinal, inspiring his side to the final which they are going to face Mamelodi Sundowns.
Hunt also believes that Mayele can reach 30 goals should he come to the Betway Premiership.

‘MAYELE COULD BE A 30-GOAL STRIKER IN THE PSL’
“I think Fiston Mayele could be a 30-goal striker in the PSL, he’s not involved in all the touches on the pitch, he just plays in the box,” Hunt said on Soccer Beat as quoted by FARPost.
“So if you give him the service, he will score goals on his own by his movements, strength, and power. He’s very good at hitting the target; that’s why I think he’s a 30-goal striker.
“He’s 30 years of age, but there are teams in the PSL that don’t look for a long-term solution but a short-term solution. With the goals Mayele can score, Kaizer Chiefs will win the treble [if they sign him].”
