Mbule’s agent apologises to Kaizer Chiefs after ’emotional’ remarks about Sipho’s future

Sipho Mbule agent Mike Makaab has apologised to the Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs for his 'emotional reaction' about the future of his client that stirred controversy in Mzansi.

The 27-year-old midfielder is currently a free agent after parting ways with the Premier Soccer League champions Mamelodi Sundowns. Makaab then claimed he had given the Glamour Boys a chance to sign his client ahead of the new season.

“Let me set the record straight. Sipho Mbule has been offered to Kaizer Chiefs. It is up to the club to make the decision, and we need to respect that decision,” the prominent  agent wrote on his X account.

“Kaizer Chiefs is a professional football club and their decisions will be based on what they think is best for the club. I am not trying to influence anything. Realistically, no matter what I say, I will never please everyone. My job is to do the best for my clients while respecting the football clubs I deal with.”

Makaab apologises for his 'emotional' remarks

Makaab insists he has massive respect for the Glamour Boys and that he did not intend to create any problems.

“I reacted in an emotional manner without giving enough thought as to how this would be seen by all the stakeholders and Kaizer Chiefs. I apologise to the SD Kaizer Jr and the club, as it was never my intention to create any problem for both him and the club,” Makaab stated.

Kaizer Chiefs fans

“Contrary to what most of the supporters believe, I have nothing but respect and admiration for a great institution that has played such a major role in SA football. I’m taking a small break from social media and hope to speak to all of you soon.”

It is interesting, though to see whether Amakhosi will go for the quality midfielder in their bid to strengthen their squad ahead of the new campaign.
