Miguel opens up on player he loves playing alongside at Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs have shown massive improvement in the three 2024/25 Premier Soccer League matches they have played, so far.

They started with a 2-1 win against Marumo Gallants before beating AmaZulu 3-1 in their second outing. The Glamour Boys were unfortunate to fall 2-1 in their most recent outing against the defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns.

Fiacre Ntwari, Inacio Miguel, Rushwin Dortley, Bradley Cross, and Gaston Sirino are the new players who have already delivered in what promises to be an interesting season ahead.

One department that has been overhauled is the defense; the only player who has been retained in the starting XI is Reeve Frosler.

Former TS Galaxy and current Rwanda international goalkeeper Ntwari has been starting in goal, with Cross playing at left-back. Miguel and Dortley have been doing well at the heart of the Glamour Boys' defence.

Miguel has now opened up on why he enjoys playing alongside the former Cape Town Spurs player at the back, “Listen, I'm very happy to have Dortley on my side because he is a young, talented boy,” he told SNL24.

“He has fantastic qualities, and I think one of the most important things in Dortley is the fact that he listens. He is a humble boy, he wants to learn, he wants to improve. I think he will go far if he keeps learning and being humble while performing at a high level.”

Dortley is in the South Africa squad that will play Congo in back-to-back 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
