Mamelodi Sundowns utility player Aubrey Modiba emphasized the importance of maintaining their defensive solidity in their pursuit of the league title.

Sundowns extended their impressive run to six consecutive clean sheets, coupled with six victories, following their 2-0 triumph over Richards Bay at the King Zwelithini Stadium on Saturday.

Modiba delivered a standout performance for Miguel Cardoso's side and was subsequently awarded the Man of the Match accolade.

WHAT MODIBA SAID WHEN HE RECEIVED MAN OF THE MATCH

“They are a very good team, they don’t give up so we had to get that second goal and I’m happy with the three points today,” Modiba told SuperSport TV after the game.

“It was important to get that clean sheet because goal difference, it helps, it gives the defence confidence and the keepers, everyone, the whole team.

“So, I’m happy we managed that and scored the goals, two today – hopefully more going forward.”
