Relebohile Mofokeng's father, Sechaba Mofokeng, is done seeing his son playing trade in the Premier Soccer League.
Since making his debut for Orlando Pirates late in the 2022/23 campaign, the now 20-year-old has established himself as one of the key players. His exploits have seen him get a chance with Bafana Bafana where he has seemingly cemented his place in the starting XI.
The versatile winger has been linked with moves to some top teams in both Africa and Europe. Despite the Sea Robbers' resolve to retain the talented youngster, his father Sechaba wants to see his son dining with the big boys outside South Africa.

He insists it doesn't really matter where his son plays in Europe, as long as he is not in South African top-flight football.
‘Mofokeng needs to compete in Europe'
“My biggest wish is to see Rele overseas in 2025/2026. I’m praying every day. I don’t want to see him in the Betway Premiership again this season. I know God will answer my prayers. Anywhere. Spain, England, Netherlands, France, Denmark, Switzerland; Rele can play. I believe that with all my heart. Take him to Barcelona? He can play. PSG? He can play. Any country. I’ll be happy, but not Saudi Arabia,” he told SNL24.
“Not yet. He’s still young. He needs to compete in UEFA competitions. If he goes to Saudi now, he won’t experience that. Yes, he’d be rich, but happiness is more important. You can have all the money in the world, but if you’re not happy, it’s worthless,” Sechebe concluded.

In the concluded 2024/25 season, Mofokeng played 49 games across all competitions with a return of 12 goals and 15 assists.
Mofokeng is expected to be part of the Bafana Bafana team that will be taking part in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
