Orlando Pirates versatile star Relebohile Mofokeng has been a hit at Bucs since his promotion to the senior team in the 2022/23 season under then-coach Jose Riveiro.
His exemplary contributions have seen the Sea Robbers win eight major trophies in a space of four years. In the 2025/26 season, Bucs, under coach Abdeslam Ouaddou, won the Premier Soccer League title for the first time in 14 years, preventing Mamelodi Sundowns from winning their ninth consecutive crown.

It explains why Bafana Bafana tactician Hugo Broos included him in his squad that is currently competing in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The 21-year-old was overlooked in the opening 2-0 loss to Mexico.
However, he has since played a crucial role in helping South Africa to make the knockout phase for the first time in history.
Let Mofokeng leave

In the last couple of years, Mofokeng has been heavily linked with a move away from Pirates, with several teams from Europe linked to him. Nevertheless, the move has not materialised yet.
Former Bafana Bafana and Manchester United star Quinton Fortune has now explained why the versatile attacker should leave the Premier Soccer League as soon as possible.
The only thing I wanted to say when I saw him is that he needs to leave South Africa,” Fortune said on Sporty TV.
“This talent is a waste, I’m sorry if I’m….I want that talent to go to the next level. Playing at that level against such a top team in the group and putting that performance, oh my goodness.
“He’s got to go, I’m not being the bad person here but he has to go,” he concluded.
Mofokeng is expected to be in the starting lineup as Bafana Bafana play Canada on Sunday in the World Cup’s Round of 32.
