Orlando Pirates graduate Thabiso Monyane is among the new names at Kaizer Chiefs ahead of the new season.
The 25-year-old Bafana Bafana international is part of the Glamour Boys, which is in the Netherlands for pre-season. As a matter of fact, he impressed when he was given a chance to show his worth for his new team.
Monyane is expected to face stiff competition from Reeve Frosler, who has been Amakhosi's first-choice right-back, and Dillan Solomons. The former Buccaneer feels at home already and has promised to help the Glamour Boys deliver.
‘We are Chiefs with rich history'
“I have been received well by the technical team, the players, and the staff, arriving from the other side of Soweto. It has been a breath of fresh air, and I am embracing a new culture,” he told the club's media team.
“I feel that there has been a massive progression since we played our first game against Vitesse last Tuesday. Our time in the Netherlands, facing really good opponents, has been a top experience.
“I feel optimistic, we are Kaizer Chiefs, a club with a rich history. We have seen in Holland how big the club is, with so many fans coming out to support us. We don't want to disappoint them. If Kaizer Chiefs do well, the country does well. We want to put a smile on our supporters,” Monyane concluded.
The defender is expected to make his debut for the club, in Mzansi, on July 26 when the Soweto giants play Asante Kotoko in the Toyota Cup.
