Moroccans return for another Chiefs coach

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has recently rejected the offer from North African giants Raja Casablanca according to FARPost.

Had Nabi accepted the offer, he’d be the second coach from the new technical team to depart to Morocco after Fernando Da Cruz who went to take up a role at the Royal Moroccan Football Federation.

The three-time CAF Champions League winners, Raja reportedly sought to acquire the services of the former AS FAR Rabat manager.

The reigning Moroccan champions are poised to part ways with head coach Ricardo Sa Pinto following a disappointing start to his tenure.

The club, which parted ways with coach Josef Zinnbauer after the 2023/24 season, is now seeking a new manager after Sa Pinto managed only two wins in 11 games.

The report added that Casablanca contacted Nasreddine Nabi's representatives.

However, Nabi's camp indicated he wanted to remain at Chiefs. Raja Casablanca also inquired with Chiefs about Nabi, however, Amakhosi stated the coach was a big part of their plans.

In spite of a somewhat underwhelming start to the season, with Chiefs currently ninth in the DStv Premiership after nine matches, Nabi recently expressed confidence in the team's progress.

NABI EXPRESSES CONFIDENCE IN CHIEFS PROJECT

“I have confidence in my players, and I have confidence in the future. We are in the right direction, we are clear, and myself and my technical team are confident,” Nabi told the media.

“Kaizer Chiefs are in the right direction. I am 100 per cent sure that we are in the right direction. Don’t worry, we need to support players, we need to help them.

“I know it’s not easy, this is football, and the only problem is scoring, but I observe the problem of my team, and we will get it right.”
