Kaizer Chiefs Marketing Director Jessica Motaung has confirmed that announcements regarding the club’s new head coach and player movements are imminent.

The update came as the club officially launched the 2024 edition of the Toyota Cup.

This year’s pre-season friendly will see the Amakhosi take on Zimbabwean Premier League champions Scottland FC. The match is scheduled for July 26 at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace in Rustenburg.

With the club still to name a permanent successor in the dugout, Motaung assured fans that clarity on the technical team and squad changes would be provided soon.

“First and foremost, thank you to the coaches and the technical team for the wonderful work that they’ve done, getting us third,” Motaung stated during the Toyota Cup launch event as quoted by iDiski Times. “Certainly, as we move forward, the mandate and the announcements will be made in due course regarding the technical team and where we intend to go.”

She reaffirmed the club’s ambitions, adding, “Chiefs is a team that is contending for what is on the table and making sure that we continue to rise to get success.”

Motaung also highlighted the Toyota Cup match as a key event for the club’s supporters. It will serve as the official unveiling of the new technical staff, recent signings, and the team’s new kit for the upcoming season.

She concluded by managing expectations, urging patience while promising significant news in the near future.

“I say to everyone, today is about the Toyota Cup, but in the next few days, in the next few weeks, there will be many announcements coming out of the Amakhosi home to say these are the changes and this is where we’re going.”
