Published on by

Our Mzansibet review in July 2026 finds that this rebranded bookmaker performs exceptionally well for casual sports bettors, offering over 30 sports categories, including football, cricket, and rugby, as well as 20 niche options.

The platform balances its sports coverage with a decent casino offering of over 1,000 games. This collection comes with a unique 4-view split-screen desktop mode.

Overall, our team awards Mzansibet 4.2 stars out of 5. The platform offers secure payments, regular promotions, and smooth navigation across its 32 sports and 1000 casino games. We deducted marks for the absence of virtual sports, horse racing, and native mobile apps.

Mzansibet Overview

In 2015, SMS2Bet Betting Services (Pty) Ltd launched an online betting platform called Eazibet. Eazibet lasted for about two years before shutting down in 2017 for “upgrades”. The upgrade came in July 2025, ten years after Eazibet’s launch, as Mzansibet.

The rebranded platform fits perfectly within South Africa’s online betting industry, offering over 30 sports categories that bettors expect from top bookmakers. However, there are some glaring omissions like horse racing and eSports, both of which are quite popular locally. It counteracts this with over 20 niche international sports and even non-sporting markets.

The casino houses a combined total of 1,000 games, which is small even for a new site. On the upside, they have all the big-name providers and the expected classics. So maybe it’s not small, but focused.

Experienced ZA punters might not rate Mzansibet’s R50 sports extra bet new player offer among the top betting sites with a welcome bonus. Many of those sites feature free bets or large sports-based deposit matches, but the Extra Bet carries zero wagering on its winnings, making it simpler for beginners. On the gaming side, the R21,000 match with 300 free spins is one of the biggest packages in the country and will be appreciated by high-rollers.

Public user feedback is mostly positive. On Trustpilot, 19 reviews give a 4 out of 5 score, praising slots and deposit speeds. This small sample might not represent the opinions of the entire customer base, but our experiences in writing this Mzansibet review align with it.

From our perspective, this platform represents an ideal option for casual punters and players. Even without native apps, the mobile browser and PWA interface are fast, functional and easy to navigate.

Is Mzansibet Legit?

Yes, Mzansibet is a legit betting site in South Africa, fully licensed by the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board under license number 10144175-017. You can verify this through the National Gambling Board.

This license was first issued in January 2014 to SMS2Bet Betting Services (Pty) Ltd (2009/007749/07). Under this license, the company managed their old Eazibet brand before rebranding it to Mzansibet and relaunching the service as a modern platform.

The operator enforces FICA protocols to protect your identity and funds. These measures ensure your winnings are paid out when requested.

Mzansibet Sports Betting Review

The sports section features 32 categories, including the most popular with local punters: soccer, rugby and cricket. While horse racing, virtual sports and esports are missing, bettors will find a deep variety of betting markets across the available offerings.

In terms of appearance and navigation, the sports lobby features a dark green interface. On mobile, the sports categories can be accessed via a side-scrolling navbar. In the centre, you’ll find Top League fixtures and In-Play games.

Scrolling down brings up upcoming events for pre-match betting, so you can easily add your preferred events to your bet slip. Alternatively, you can click the sports categories for that.

Speaking of the slip, you can confirm your wagers via a yellow icon at the centre of the bottom navigation bar. This is something betting sites always do for their mobile websites, but here the button sticks out like a sore thumb, but in a good way.

Football

Soccer is the top sport on this site, with deep coverage of the major leagues and tournaments and almost 1,000 active markets on any given day. You can place bets on the South African PSL, CAF Champions League, UEFA Champions League, EPL, and LaLiga.

Matches feature player props, the standard match result (1×2) markets, over/under markets for goals and corners, multi-bets, and statistical wagers. Payout margins are standard compared with other South African wagers, around 95%. It is also worth noting that Mzansibet’s odds on major fixtures are on par with those of top sites like Easybet.

Horse Racing

Mzansibet doesn’t offer horse racing markets, even though the site description at the bottom of the sports page mentions it. For a platform with quality horse racing odds, check out our review of Betfred South Africa.

Other Sports

Rugby and Cricket are listed among the top sports alongside Tennis, American Football, Baseball, and MMA. Punters can wager on domestic events in the Currie Cup and SA20 once those seasons are announced.

The Specials category covers political events and international reality television outcomes. This political coverage is sort of 50/50 in terms of commonality in SA betting sites. Some will have it, some don’t. We’re happy Mzansibet has it.

Betting Features

The platform offers all of Mzansi’s favourite betting features: Cash Out, Live Betting and Bet Builder. However, it also has a few small differences from other sites.

We tested these options on live events, and everything loads quickly on both mobile and desktop. Values could change in the blink of an eye, showing a quick responsiveness rarely seen on other mobile betting platforms.

Tested on 17/6/2026 by Gift Enyadike

Mzansibet offers the standard full cash out. Once the game kicks off, you can take as much as 85% of your total winnings. That is, if you are winning. In the example above, this feature was available up to the 89th minute, at which point the Cash Out button disappeared.

There’s no partial option here, which would allow you to take out some of your winnings while leaving the bet running, as seen on some other sites. The moment you accept the amount being offered by Mzansibet, your wager is over. Should you decide to cancel a bet before or as it goes live, you can get 95% of your stake back with the cashout button.

Mzansibet betslip showing cash out feature from before a game goes live. R23.75 taken from R25 stake.

While we found the cashout feature responsive, with funds returned in less than 3 seconds, we weren’t pleased that multi-bets can’t be settled early if certain legs are inactive.

Tested on 17/6/2026 by Gift Enyadike

Live betting can be done on either the main sportsbook or the dedicated In-Play section. In the latter, you can select which sporting fixtures you want to view.

If on a day you have football, cricket and rugby fixtures all ongoing, you can click on the soccer icon to see only soccer. Say you want to bet on cricket as well, you can click on the cricket icon and see both. What’s more, you can click on an icon again to remove the fixtures of that sport.

This is a very unique way to curate your page. Most other sites would dump all these games in an “All” tab and then split them off into the different sports categories, forcing you to switch.

A toggle switch labelled “Only with video” filters the view, but doesn’t show anything. We had assumed this was for fixtures with Live Video Streaming, but weren’t able to find any streams, as you can see above. A Live Chat agent also repeatedly told us that no live streaming was on the site. This toggle’s purpose needs to be made clearer to avoid such confusion.

Fortunately, the aforementioned 2D match tracker provides graphic displays of ball positions and live stats on the screen.

Mzansi bet builder screenshot showing 2 suspended markets in the selection slip.
Tested on 17/6/2026 by Gift Enyadike

The bet builder is available on major competitions like the EPL, PSL and World Cup, and lets you combine up to 8 pre-match or live markets from a football match. While some competitor sites like Easybet offer 10 selections, 8 legs are more than sufficient for slips and might actually be more suitable for less-experienced punters.

We found it very smooth to use; however, it requires speed during live play, as certain markets can close, preventing you from placing the bet.

Mzansibet Casino Review

Mzansibet casino lobby showing weekly slots cashback up to R1000

The casino section is treated as an almost separate but connected site. This setup is similar to how Pantherbets organises its platform. The library features 1,000 casino games powered by top developers like NetEnt, Pragmatic Play, Evolution and Habanero.

Slot players can access over 580 slots, including classics such as Gates of Olympus and Hot Hot Fruit. However, the lobby lacks online poker tables, lucky numbers, and scratchcards. Aviator is also the only crash game available.

The live dealer lobby provides 18 roulette tables, 140 blackjack options, and 56 baccarat variants running 24/7. There are 9 live game shows, including Crazy Time and Monopoly, which are among the most popular in SA.

On desktop, players can enjoy 2-view or 4-view split-screen modes to play up to 4 games simultaneously. We’d previously seen this setup at big sites like Gbets and Goldrush, so it was a welcome addition here.

This is the only area where the mobile performance takes a hit, as all games load slowly on smaller screens. This can be somewhat circumvented by downloading the PWA, but not by much. Once the games do load, though? It’s all good.

Overall, Mzansibet is clearly going for a quality-over-quantity approach, which we can appreciate.

Mzansibet Promotions Review

Mzansibet has a great balance of promotions for punters and players. Some of them only become available when you sign up and make a deposit, though.

Welcome Bonuses

The welcome package consists of a R50 matched free bet for sports betting and up to R21,000 plus 300 spins for casino players. Remarkably, Mzansibet lets players claim both offers simultaneously, making it one of the few platforms, like Easybet and Pantherbet, that offer this structure. The reason is that these bonuses run independently, with no impact on each other’s wagering requirements.

Both deals require a minimum deposit of R50 to activate. Let us break down the limits and minimum deposits in the table below.

Bonus TypeMax AmountMinimum deposit
Sports WelcomeR50R50
Casino MatchR21,000 + 300 Spins (5 deposits)R50

The sports welcome offer has a 7-day validity period with zero wagering requirements on extra bet winnings. It only requires a first bet of R50 on any game with odds of 2.00 or more. Win or lose, you’ll get the extra R50 regardless. So while the amount is quite small by industry standards, the simple requirements are a great setup for beginners and casual players.

The casino match is one of the biggest welcome packages in Mzansi, but requires the correct Mzansibet promo codes and a lot of commitment. It carries the industry-standard 30x wagering requirement within a pretty tight 7-day window per step. We think this structure is best suited for intermediate players or high rollers.

Welcome Bonus Comparison

While MzansiBet’s welcome bonuses provide immense value, Several alternative welcome deals are available on South African betting sites with free spins.

  • Betfred offers a matching R21,000 welcome offer for sports and rewards you with more bonus spins (750) over just THREE deposits.
  • Playbet hands out a R50 sign-up bonus and 50 free spins without depositing, and R15,000 also split across 3 deposit matches.
  • Our Wanejobet review details a 150% match up to R1,000 with 100 free spins on casino games or a simple 100% match up to R1,000 for sports. Seems easier, but has much stricter wagering and an even tighter deadline.

Other Promotions

Weekly Sports Cashback

Active users receive 10% cashback up to R5,000 every Monday.

Event Promotions

Punters receive extra bets during international sporting tournaments.

Mzansiboost Accumulator

Multi bet winnings get boosted by up to 250% on large bet slips. This offer only appears when you’ve made your first deposit.

VIP Programme

The Royal Safari Club serves as the loyalty programme for players on the platform. This scheme features 8 reward tiers designed for consistent bettors. Members can obtain free spins and up to R1,000,000 in bonus funds. These rewards increase as players progress through the club’s levels. The programme ensures that play is recognised with structured incentive tiers.

Loyalty Store

The platform also hosts a Loyalty Store for players. You can buy free spins using “comp” points accumulated by playing online slots. This feature provides direct value to slot players on the site. This store is an addition to the loyalty ecosystem.

Mzansibet Withdrawals, Deposits and Payouts

Mzansibet caters to bettors’ diverse preferences by offering a deep range of banking options. All payment pathways utilise SSL encryption to protect your transaction history.

Deposits

There are 15 deposit methods available for South African players. Vouchers provide the lowest entry point for casual and budget players. Card transactions and instant EFT options allow for larger transfers.

All non-voucher deposit methods require a minimum transaction of R50. This matches the deposit requirements for the welcome bonuses and keeps things simple for beginner players.

All payment methods are free of administrative fees, but FICA verification is required before you can fund your account.

Our team tested the Ozow option with a R50 deposit during this Mzansibet review. The system processed this payment and credited the funds instantly as claimed, allowing us to secure both the money needed for the sports extra bet and the first matching casino bonus.

Withdrawals: How Long Does Mzansibet Take to Pay Out?

Mzansibet pays out all winnings within 24 hours, matching established rivals like Betfred. EFT payouts and mobile transfers arrive on the same day. The operator processes your transaction once your FICA verification is complete.

Withdrawal MethodMin WithdrawalMax WithdrawalProcessing Time
Instant EFT (Ozow, Peach & CallPay)R100R1,000,0000-24 Hours
OTT VoucherR300R3,0000-24 Hours
Nedbank Cardless*R300R5,0000-24 Hours

*The Nedbank Cardless withdrawal option appears 2 times on the platform with identical transfer parameters. If there is a difference between them, the site needs to make that clear.

The system matches the payout speeds of other South African bookmakers.

Payouts

The maximum daily winning cap across sports is set at R1,000,000. However, the rulebook lists limits for categories that do not exist on the platform. Our experts searched the lobby but found zero horse racing or lucky numbers markets.

Game CategoryMaximum Payout LimitActual Availability on Site
Sports BettingR1,000,000Yes
BetGamesR1,000,000Yes
Lucky NumbersR1,000,000No
Casino GamesR1,000,000Yes
Horse Racing (Single)R200,000No
Horse Racing (4+ Legs)R500,000No

The R1,000,000 limit equals the maximum payout at Bet.co.za and Wanejobets. However, this cap is lower than those of BetXchange (R11,000,000) and Betfred (R15,000,000). Beginners should note these caps when placing multiple wagers. The presence of unused categories suggests future platform updates may occur.

Mzansibet App Review

Currently, Mzansibet doesn’t offer an app in the Google Play Store or the iOS App Store. Instead, players can enjoy an app-like experience by downloading a Progressive Web App (PWA) directly from the platform. The mobile operator features a dedicated installation page for both mobile and desktop devices.

The downloadable web application focuses on the online casino lobbies. Attempting to open the sports betting menu loads the content inside an in-app browser. This web view acts like a built-in frame rather than opening your external internet browser.

This split layout is due to the casino running on a separate platform, as we mentioned. While casino games load slowly on mobile devices, the PWA loads faster.

Customer Support Review

The brand offers live chat, email, and a local telephone number. Currently, support is listed as available 24/7. However, live agents repeatedly told us that they operate from 07:00 to 01:00 daily. Aligning the advertised hours with actual operations would improve transparency.

Available Channels

  • Live Chat: Available on site
  • Email Support: [email protected]
  • Telephone Support: 021 891 0477

Our Support Tests

An AI assistant handles the first chat phase with automated responses, which are limited to FAQ-style buttons and an option to speak to an agent. The chatbot refuses to connect to live agents without an active account. So, if you want to ask questions before signing up, use the other channels.

Email is the weakest option. Our inquiry about whether you could use the sports and casino bonuses simultaneously went unanswered.

However, calling the telephone line got us connected to an agent in under 1 minute. The agent explained that the bonuses could be used together without impacting other wagering requirements.

After registration, we tested the live chat with a question about subsequent deposit matches. Could someone still access the second or third deposit matches if they failed to get the first one due to a mistake?

The support agent answered quickly and politely despite our account having made zero deposits at the time. The representative also checked on our status after periods of silence. This was a pleasant surprise, as most other sites would just end the chat. The agent also confirmed that the designated codes were needed for successful bonus activation.

Responsible Gambling At Mzansibet

The operator prioritises player safety by providing educational materials and links to support services like the National Responsible Gambling Programme. These resources are designed to ensure that online sports wagering remains a recreational activity.

Players can configure boundaries directly within the personal limits section of their account dashboard. Deposit, loss, and session limits are easily adjusted, with session reminders set up to 1,000,000 minutes.

Mzansibet vs Competitors

The platform entered the South African online betting market alongside several other new bookmakers. We compare Mzansibet against Lucky Fish and Pantherbet, which came out one month and two months after, respectively, to evaluate relative platform value.

Our Expert Verdict: Is Mzansibet Worth It For South African Players?

Yes, Mzansibet is worth it. This is a balanced platform with 32 sports categories and 1,000 casino games. Features like the multi-select filters and cash out operate smoothly, and the many ongoing bonuses are fun. The multi-view split-screen on desktop allows players to load up to 4 casino games simultaneously without lag or buffering.

The lack of horse racing, lucky numbers, and a proper app might upset some users, but overall, this bookmaker is excellent for anyone who treats betting as it should be: a fun hobby.
