Nabi calls for patience from Chiefs fans – ‘Zigzag result is normal’

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi is calling on the club’s supporters to be patient with the team as he continues to put his philosophy across.

Chiefs have had a topsy-turvy campaign so far, having won three, lost as many while drawing one of their seven games across all competitions, with two of those victories coming in the league.

It has seen the early season optimism disappear somewhat with reality dawning on fans and Nabi that there is still plenty of work to do before Amakhosi can start challenging for titles.

The veteran tactician admits he expected the inconsistencies and hopes the supporters can get on the same page as he continues to implement his ideas.

What does Nabi make of his team’s indifferent form?

“We will give everything for a positive result but you know if you are in a process, the result is like that, zigzag and it is normal because you change some things and give more time to the younger players,” Nabi told the media.

“If you want to correctly develop younger players, you need to accept that sometimes you will lose. It is normal for young players and like that you can come with a new philosophy and it is not easy mentally.

“Maybe it is new for some players and it is normal. We are realistic, we know this is a transition season.”
