Former Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has been appointed as the new head coach of Raja Club Athletic, officially succeeding Fadlu Davids.
The Moroccan giants announced the move as they navigate a tense title race in the Botola Pro league. Raja currently sit four points adrift of league leaders RS Berkane, a gap that has widened following a poor run of form.
Nabi, who parted ways with Kaizer Chiefs last season, arrived in Casablanca on Tuesday to finalise the deal. The Tunisian tactician had been linked with several positions in recent months, including a role with the Tunisia national team.
Poor results forced Davids out

However, according to iDiski Times, he has opted for a return to Morocco, where he previously managed ASFAR before his stint in South Africa.
The club’s decision to bring in Nabi was prompted by a string of disappointing results under Davids, with the team suffering three defeats in their last four matches. This slump saw them lose crucial ground in their championship pursuit.
An agreement has been reached for the remainder of the current season, with an additional one-year contract. The deal also includes an option to extend for a further season, contingent on meeting specific objectives agreed upon by both parties.
Nabi had mixed fortunes at Chiefs

During his tenure with Kaizer Chiefs, Nabi famously ended the club’s decade-long trophy drought by securing the Nedbank Cup title.
However, he had overseen a poor 2024-25 season in the PSL when Chiefs finished ninth with a paltry 32 points as they missed out on the top eight for a second straight season.
He was succeeded by his assistants Cedric Kaze and Khalil Ben Youssef, who guided Amakhosi to third place, their best finish in six years, but the club parted company with them at the end of the season.
