As the 2024/25 season moves towards its conclusion, Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has reportedly received an updated mandate from the club.

The former Young Africans coach, took over at the start of the current season with the primary objective of rebuilding the Kaizer Chiefs squad.

To date, his tenure in Naturena has seen the Phefeni Glamour Boys secure ten wins, alongside ten losses and five draws in all competitions.

Sources at Soccer Laduma indicate that a recent meeting between the technical team and the Chiefs hierarchy resulted in a renewed emphasis on finishing within the top eight of the league standings and mounting a serious challenge for the Nedbank Cup title.

WHAT NABI HAS TO ACHIEVE THIS SEASON

“It was a meeting about looking at how they can improve things. Everyone at the club knows and believes that the team is on the right track and can do better than the way things are,” said Soccer Laduma source.

“So, in this meeting it was not the normal post-game technical team meeting. It was with the management who looked at the way forward on how to improve things with the remaining games in the league and the Nedbank Cup. It was like a brainstorming session, so to say

“The meeting was about to figure out how they can avoid what happened last season where they finished 10th in the league and finished the season without a trophy.

“They talked about how they can finish in the top eight with eight games to go in the league as well as fight for the Nedbank Cup. It was a constructive meeting where all parties agreed that the team is not in a good space and things need to change for the better.”
