Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has fired a warning to rival teams in regards to attacker Gaston Sirino whom he feels will light up the league when he is fully fit.
Sirino delivered a man of the match performance on Saturday as he scored a goal and provided an assist in Chiefs’ 4-0 thrashing of SuperSport United in the Carling Knockout Round of 16 match.
The attacking midfielder-cum winger was just returning from an injury but still had a huge influence on the game and his coach feels it is just a matter of time before the rest start feeling his might.
What does Nabi think of Gaston Sirino?
“It’s true that Sirino has helped us today [Saturday] and we thank him for that,” Nabi told iDiski Times after the match.
“But today, he was a player that was not at his maximum fitness because he’s coming from an injury. He hasn’t trained a lot the last few days, but he showed character, he showed that he can make the difference sometimes.
“But as well that’s why we changed him because we were fully aware that he was not at his full capacity.
Ex-Sundowns star has starred for Chiefs
“And we can promise that if Sirino gets back his full fitness, you will see more from him, and we think that the younger players can learn a lot from him.”
Sirino has been outstanding since he signed for Chiefs from Mamelodi Sundowns with his contributions leading Amakhosi to three wins in four games this season.
He was a doubt for Saturday’s game after suffering a muscle injury before the international break but he was passed fit to feature for the Glamour Boys.
