Kaizer Chiefs’ miserable Premier Soccer League season climaxed last weekend when they failed to make the top eight.
The Glamour Boys needed maximum points against Polokwane City on Saturday at the FNB Stadium to qualify for the 2025/26 MTN8, but ended up playing to a goalless draw despite the many scoring chances they created.
Have a look at what the fans said as the newly crowned Nedbank Cup champions finished the campaign in ninth position with 32 points.
Chiefs achieved more than teams in the top 8

It wasn’t the finish we hoped for in the league, but what a journey it’s been! In his first season, our coach brought us silverware and guided us to CAF Confederation Cup qualification, a sign of growth and determination. Missing out on the Top 8 stings, but winning a trophy proves that Kaizer Chiefs are still a force to be reckoned with. This is just the beginning, next season, we rise even higher – Tlotlo Sollays Ketlholegile
This is a true reflection of our season. We will try again next season. Thank you for the Nedbank Cup. Slowly but surely, our glory days will return – MO RG AN Monochromatic
When Pirates were winning the MTN8 and Nedbank Cup, Chiefs fans were calling them plastic cups, today they were fighting tooth and nail to participate in the top 8 next season. Stuart Baxter was right – Dikgang Legoase
Kaizer Chiefs has achieved more than some of the teams in the top 8. They had a very bad season, however, they finished it with silverware, unlike some teams that finished the league above them. So they have something to be proud of – Otto Bukani
Chiefs doesn't have quality players, these players lack energy, passion, hunger and fighting spirit for the team, they knew that they should win this game but it didn't bother them, Nabi did his best by winning the cup this season so he must be given enough chance to build and let him buy his players. Remember that Rome was not built in one day – Sibongiseni Musawenkosi Cebekhulu
Motaungs, break the bank and see what happens

Nabi is not a good coach.. He was so inconsistent. The players that Chiefs bought were doing well in their teams, meaning they are not that bad. Favoritism has cost us as fans so much. He says he wants to release Kwinika, a defender who assisted the team so much against Sundowns and Pirates while his favourites were injured and suspended – Sphelele Shozi
Having an expensive technical team that can't deliver is the same as having a girlfriend who wears a R5000 weave but can't even cook minced meat. This is a painful shame, we mustn't fool ourselves with the Nedbank Cup – Dj Phat Cat
Nabi is good, we have improved a lot in terms of controlling the ball, the only thing we haven't done is get goals consistently. Which means Kaizer Chiefs must support Nabi and give him what he wants, that's all. Kaizer, please break the bank, then you'll see what's gonna happen next season – Jabulani Mkhwanazi
Nabi must go! He's the most protected coach we've ever had at Chiefs. The team bought him more than eight players, and he still complains about the quality? Yes, quality for the league title, but what of the top 8? Are we going to be backing him because of the Nedbank Cup we forced through, through an offside goal from Du Preex in the semis? Quality? The team can't play basic football, and we talk of quality, where are the coach's tactics? – Brilliant Malaubona Ncube
I hope the rumours of coach Nabi leaving the club are true because we can't stand for this next season. Thanks coach for ending the trophy drought, but Chiefs are bigger than you. Management should start looking for a new coach. we have seen enough – King Promise Gubazi
