Nabi rates Chiefs signings after an excellent start to the season

Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs have started the season with four wins and a draw in the five Premier Soccer League outings.

Interestingly, they have not conceded a goal in the matches played so far. It is promising to be a good season if the Glamour Boys sustain that run.

Flavio Silva (Persebaya Surabaya, Indonesia), Ethan Chislett (Port Vale, England), Nkanyiso Shinga (FC Alverce, Portugal), Paseka Mako (Orlando Pirates), Thabiso Monyane (Orlando Pirates), Siphesihle Ndlovu (SuperSport United), Asanele Velebayi (Cape Town Spurs), Etiosa Ighodaro (Mamelodi Sundowns), Luke Baartman (Cape Town Spurs), Lebohang Maboe (free) have been brought in to improve the team.

While a section have contributed to that good run, coach Nasreddine Nabi is impressed with a piece of business done by the management.

Performance of some players give us options

“I think I have to say congratulations to the board, I think they did a very big job for us. Some players have started to play already, and some of them will also get a chance to play,” the tactician opened up to the media.

“Now, I think the performance of some players who played gives us more solutions. But building a team is always tough. With the new players, we need some time to build our team and to be better. But for now we have to say congratulations to the board for these players. I think they help us.

“I think the only thing that we need now is time and passion because you know when you [blend] some new players with [current] players, to make a relation between them, you need time, and like I said, just with passion it will be better,” Nabi concluded.

Nabi hopes to get another positive result on Tuesday, September 16 against joint leaders Sekhukhune United.
