Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has confirmed that Nigerian forward Etiosa Godspower Ighodaro is on his wish list but his signing has been delayed by an administrative issue.
Ighodaro was reported to be close to joining Chiefs in June but over one month later, his arrival at Naturena has not been confirmed.
However, it has been reported that the situation of the striker is set to change as he is due to get a residence permit which would allow him to be registered as a local.
Chiefs coach admits interest in Ighodaro

With this in mind, his parent club Mamelodi Sundowns have reportedly opted against releasing him, which would have made him a free agent, and an attractive prospect for teams, with Chiefs leading the race for his signature.
Nabi admits he would love to have the player in his team but he cannot do much now until the administrative problem is dealt with.
“That player [Ighodaro] belongs to another team with administrative issues, but he or another striker that we listed on our transfer list will be welcomed,” Nabi told FARPost on Tuesday during the Betway Premiership launch.
Will Nabi land one of his key targets?

“For now, we will wait to hear from our administration if he or another striker will join. I saw the player you are asking about last season was playing for AmaZulu, and I believe he’s a good player, but he’s a player that doesn’t belong to our club, and we can’t say much about it.”
Sundowns signed the striker 2021 but he is yet to play for them after loan spells at University of Pretoria, Chippa United, SuperSport United and AmaZulu last season, where he scored six goals in 27 games across all competitions.
The Brazilians feel Ighodaro can fetch them a transfer fee and also ease their foreign quota headache if he gets the residence permit and have therefore decided against releasing him, keeping Chiefs, and other suitors waiting.
