Bafana Bafana international Sipho Mbule is among the quality players available for free in the Premier Soccer League's transfer market.
The 27-year-old's deal with Mamelodi Sundowns expired recently, with the Miguel Cardoso-led team opting against extending it since he felt he was surplus to requirements. Mbule's agent Mike Makaab, has since offered Kaizer Chiefs the player.

However, a section of Amakhosi faithful don't feel the midfielder is a good cloth owing to his off-pitch controversies that led to the termination of his loan deal with Sekhukhune United last season. Former Chiefs' midfielder Frank Makua believes Mbule can be a good signing for the Soweto giants, but should avoid the side-shows.
Mbule’s style of play can fit Chiefs
“I think he has to change his attitude. I mean, he's a good player, he has to move away from the off-the-field things,” he said as quoted by Sowetan.
“He can be a good player for Chiefs, but it’s all up to him. He has to be disciplined, know when to drink and when not to. He just needs to take things seriously. His style of play can suit the team as well. I think it will be a wise move to take him. But perhaps they are still trying to decide … as they don’t want people who will give them a headache.

“Remember they [Chiefs] had a player like Dumisani Zuma, and he had a similar problem off the field, On the field, he was a good player. They could be scared to take that risk again. But let’s hope they will give him the opportunity now, because if he stays long without a team, it will be a big problem… If he gets a team now before the preseason, he will be ready for the new season,” Makua concluded.
The Glamour Boys are expected to sign a few players in their bid to strengthen for the new 2025/26 season.
