Kaizer Chiefs legend Siyabonga Nomvethe has publicly backed head coach Nasreddine Nabi, amidst recent rumors swirling about the coach's uncertain future at Amakhosi.
These reports surfaced surprisingly soon after Nabi guided the “Phefeni Glamour Boys” to a Nedbank Cup triumph, famously ending the club's decade-long trophy drought.
Despite this cup success, Chiefs endured a challenging Betway Premiership campaign, finishing in a disappointing ninth place with 32 points from 28 matches.
However, it appears Nabi is set to continue his rebuilding project next season having been seen scouting the potential signings for next season.
The Tunisian coach still has a year remaining on his initial two-year contract with Chiefs, which also includes an option for a further year's extension.
Nomvethe says Nabi should be given more time to work on the Chiefs team, saying he wouldn’t turn everything around in just one season.

‘NABI MUST BE GIVEN A FAIR CHANCE’
“Nabi must be given his fair chance just like all other coaches,” said Nomvethe.
“You can’t perform all miracles in one year. At times, it takes some time for things to come together properly.
“They must just let him do his job and not put him under pressure. We know that everyone is demanding the league, the cups and everything.
“But he has started to bring something in the trophy cabinet. Let’s hope that in this upcoming season, there will be more coming.”
Nabi has rejoined the team for their pre-season preparations. The Glamour Boys officially began their training sessions last Friday at Naturena, kicking off their preparations for the highly anticipated next season under Nabi's guidance.
