No two ways about it! Motaung Jr. sets Nabi a must-achieve target after Nedbank triumph

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi steered the Glamour Boys to their first title in a decade after beating Orlando Pirates 2-1 in the Nedbank Cup final staged at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.

In the Carling Knockout, the Soweto giants had fallen against eventual finalists Mamelodi Sundowns. However, Nabi's men avenged the defeat in the Nedbank Cup semi-final before going all the way to dethrone their traditional rivals on Saturday, May 10.

Nevertheless, things are not working well in the Premier Soccer League, where Amakhosi are struggling to make the top eight. They are currently placed ninth with 30 points but can qualify for the MTN8 if they win the remaining two games against Sekhukhune United and Polokwane City, respectively.

Not easy but Chiefs MUST win – Motaung Jr.

Club's Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr. insists Nabi and his men have no option but to win the games and make the top eight teams. He concedes it will not be a walk in the park, but he remains confident Amakhosi will sail through.

“We need to be [in the top eight]; we know our objectives before the season started. We missed out on it last year,” he told 5FM.

“We are going to give everything that we can to make sure that we feature in every cup possible next season. It’s two tough games; Polokwane City and Sekhukhune, teams that are actually doing well this season. So, it won’t be easy, but from our side it’s a must.

“We need to be in the top 8 and give everything we can to make sure we do that,” Motaung Jr. concluded.
