Magesi FC head coach Clinton Larsen has reacted to their surprising 2-1 victory over Mamelodi Sundowns in the Carling Knockout Cup final.
The match played at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein.
Masandawana scored first via Iqraam Rayners before Magesi came back with two goals from Tshepo Kakora and Delano Abrahams in the second half.
Larsen said “it’s an honour” lifting the league cup again having achieved this with Bloemfontein Celtic in 2012.
He recalled that many had predicted big scores in favour of the Brazilians, saying nobody gave them a chance.

LARSEN ON BEATING SUNDOWNS
“It's an honour. It's been a long time. Deja vu, isn't it? 2012, nobody gave us a chance,” said Larsen.
“We've done it. This was a fairytale story, you know, this little team from OLHC Polokwane. People were talking about four, five and six goals [against us] today.
“But I was quite confident that our team could be a lot more competitive than that. Going into the game, the first half, the whole intention was we knew we were going to see probably 30-35% on the ball, but our aim was to go into the break without conceding and that didn't happen.
“And when Elvis Chipezeze went down with a knock, that's exactly what I discussed with my centre-half.
“Those penetrating passes to the feet of Reiners as well as Shalulile were starting to look dangerous and that's exactly how we conceded.
“So that was very disappointing, you know, not going into the break level. The other two chances were strikes from outside the box, which is what we wanted.”
