Official: PSL Announce Venue For MTN8 Final

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has officially announced the date and venue for the MTN8 final, setting the stage for an exciting showdown between Orlando Pirates and Stellenbosch FC. 

The highly anticipated match will take place on Saturday, September 13, 2025, with a kick-off time of 6:00 PM.

This confirmation came on Wednesday from the PSL's headquarters in Parktown, Johannesburg, where the final's home and away draw was also conducted. The defending champions, Orlando Pirates, will be the designated home team, while Stellenbosch will be the away side.

Pirates secured their spot in the final after a dramatic penalty shootout victory over Mamelodi Sundowns in Pretoria. The second-leg semi-final at Lucas Moripe Stadium ended in a 1-1 draw, bringing the aggregate score to 2-2 before the Buccaneers won 4-1 on penalties. 

Meanwhile, Stellenbosch FC, also known as Stellies, comfortably earned their place in the final by defeating Sekhune United 3-1 on aggregate.

PIRATES AND STELLENBOSCH SET FOR MTN8 FINAL REMATCH

This final is a rematch of last season's MTN8 championship, where Pirates triumphed over Stellenbosch with a 3-1 victory at the Moses Mabhida Stadium. Under the guidance of coach Abdeslam Ouaddou, the Soweto giants are now aiming for a historic fourth consecutive MTN8 title.

The final will be held at the Mbombela Stadium in Mpumalanga. With a 43,500-seat capacity, the stadium is expected to be a sold-out affair, just like the previous year's final between these two clubs. 

The PSL has confirmed that further details regarding ticket sales and other logistics will be provided in the coming days.
