Orlando Pirates make major decision on Ndlondlo’s future

Orlando Pirates have reportedly parted ways with midfielder Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo after opting not to renew his contract, which expired on June 30.

The Buccaneers, having already announced nine new signings with more anticipated, made a last-minute decision against extending Ndlondlo’s stay, according to iDiski Times.

The 30-year-old joined Pirates in July 2022 from Marumo Gallants following a standout season. During his time with the club, the former AmaZulu FC midfielder made 65 appearances and scored three goals.

Ndlondlo struggled for gametime

Ndlondlo’s tenure with the Buccaneers included winning two Nedbank Cups and three MTN8 trophies. He is now a free agent and can join any club.

He fell down the pecking order at the club in the last two seasons as he struggled to get gametime with Thalente Mbatha and Makhehlene Makhaula preferred in central midfield by former coach Jose Riveiro.

With new signings in midfield, Ndlondlo became surplus to requirements at Pirates and will now have to look for a new club after the Buccaneers opted against extending his stay.

Pirates have so far signed Sipho Mbule (free), Yanela Mbuthuma (Richards Bay), Masindi Nemtajela (Marumo Gallants), Tshepang Moremi (AmaZulu), Nkosikhona Ndaba (Richards Bay), Sinoxolo Kwayiba (Chippa United), Tshepo Mashiloane (Baroka), Sihle Nduli (Stellenbosch) and Oswin Appollis (Polokwane City) and are believed to be looking to add more to beef up new coach Abdeslam Ouaddou’s team.
