Top 5 players Orlando Pirates need to release

Published on by Nkosiyabuya Sithole

Orlando Pirates, like any top club, possess a squad with a depth of talent, but also a number of players who have seen limited game time.

Afrik-Foot identifies five players who the club might consider releasing.

WHICH PLAYERS PIRATES MUST RELEASE

Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo:

The midfielder has fallen down the pecking order, with Thalente Mbatha and Miguel Timm now favored in the midfield.

Ndlondlo has made only two appearances across all competitions this season, highlighting his limited playing time since joining the club.

Bandile Shandu:

Since his arrival from Maritzburg United in 2021, Shandu has struggled with injuries, limiting his impact on the team.

His recent ankle injury further complicates his situation, with competition from Thabiso Monare, Deano van Rooyen, and Thabiso Lebitso for playing time.

Zakhele Lepasa:

The striker has fallen out of favour under Jose Riveiro, with Evidence Makgopa and Tshegofatso Mabasa preferred in the starting lineup. This lack of game time has also impacted his international career, resulting in his exclusion from the Bafana Bafana squad several times.

A loan spell at SuperSport United in the last two seasons, provided him with much-needed playing time, but his future at Pirates remains uncertain, with reports linking him with a permanent departure.

Goodman Mosele:

Mosele has struggled to establish himself at Pirates, facing challenges with injuries and limited playing time.

A previous loan spell at Chippa United did not provide the desired breakthrough, and he is currently sidelined with a long-term injury.

Katlego Otladisa:

The winger, who joined Pirates at the start of last season, has struggled to break into the first team and was recently loaned out to Sekhukhune United.

With limited playing time at Pirates and a successful loan spell, a permanent move to Sekhukhune United could be beneficial for both parties.
