Ex-Pirates winger chasing World Cup slot
Bafana Bafana winger Mohau Nkota is not giving up on his dream to play at the 2026 FIFA World Cup after missing out on the March camp.
“Going to the World Cup, we want to make it a dream. We want people to remember what we left at the World Cup,” he said as quoted by FARPost.
“We want to make sure that we leave a mark, make sure we play our best. And then we hope that something good will come.”
Appollis compared to Chiefs legends
Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Cole Alexander has explained why Orlando Pirates star Oswin Appollis reminds him of legends like Reneilwe Letsholonyane and Jabulani Maluleke, clarifying that his comparison is not based on playing style.
“I look at Appollis, and honestly, I did not believe Orlando Pirates are the right team for him. Then he surprised many people; he became one of the best players in South Africa right now,” Alexander told FARPost
“It comes down to his mentality. With a lot of things, the most important element is the mind. Appollis reminds of players like Reneilwe Letsholonyane and Jabulani Maluleke. Not how they play but on how they think.

“They did not care about messing up and about mistakes or what someone else thinks. Those players always knew how to bounce back after a mistake. They knew what to do next; they always remained brave and confident after mistakes,” he added.
It was emotional!
Bafana Bafana winger Mohau Nkota has admitted his exit from Orlando Pirates was very emotional but he made the decision to leave the Buccaneers because he wants to go “as far possible.”
“It wasn’t easy,” Nkota told the Saudi Pro League.
“It was emotional, leaving the club where you grow up. They taught me a lot of things. My last week, it wasn’t easy to go in and say goodbyes to the guys.
“It was very emotional for me, so I found the last day hard, that I will never see them again. To the Orlando Pirates fans, thank you. I wanted to leave; I wanted to play football. I want to go as far as I can,” Nkota continued.
