Orlando Pirates forward Relebohile Mofokeng is out there on his own when it comes to goal contributions in 2026.

Mofokeng scored another brilliant goal and provided an assist as the Buccaneers thrashed AmaZulu 3-0 in the PSL on Saturday, taking his tally for the season to 10 and seven assists in the league.

Most strikingly, all of the 10 goals have come this year, plus five assists, showing how crucial he has been to the Buccaneers’ title charge and no other player in the PSL has had 15 goal contributions in 2026 like the 21-year-old.

In his current form, few will bet against him being crowned PSL Player of the Season.

Orlando Pirates fans were sad when Mohau Nkota departed the club for Saudi side Al-Ettifaq but the form of Oswin Appollis has made them quickly forget about him.

Nkota had established himself as a key player in his debut season in the senior team, scoring seven goals and adding five assists in 39 games, which attracted Al-Ettifaq, but Pirates did a great job in finding his replacement.

That is because Appollis has already netted 11 goals and has nine assists in 38 games so far this season, helping Pirates push for the league title, and even ignited talks of a PSL Player of the Season award.

Ouaddou still not happy despite 3-0 win

Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou is still demanding more even after his team dispatched AmaZulu 3-0 on Saturday.

Pirates bounced back from their 2-2 draw with Richards Bay to beat Usuthu and go top of the table thanks to goals from Yanela Mbuthuma, Rele Mofokeng and Oswin Appollis but their coach is still not satisfied.

“I’m very happy for the boys but again if we want to be honest, it’s a game that could’ve finished with 7-0 definitely,” the Pirates boss said as per Sunday Independent.
