Latest news about Orlando Pirates in the last 24 hours including the future of agent’s stance on Sipho Mbule, what Bucs endured to win a treble and more.
Agent on Mbule’s Pirates future
Mike Makaab, the renowned agent of Orlando Pirates midfielder Sipho Mbule, has commented on the player’s future with his contract set to expire in June.
“With Mbule, one needs to understand that coaches see players in a certain way,” he said during an exclusive interview with iDiski Times.
“You have a look at what Orlando Pirates have achieved this season, the league and two cups. They play a certain type of football. It’s up to the coach to decide whether player fits into that type of football or not and a lot of sinister comments have been made around Mbule for a couple of months.
“In a very simple form, one has to respect the technical stuff’s decisions. They have done incredibly well at Pirates, they have a right to decide who they believe who must play to achieve what they want. That’s something we need to respect.

“I can’t even comment on that, the club has an option until the end of May. And again, I have to respect that. Whatever decision is made, I must respect that,” Makaab concluded.
What Pirates endured before winning a treble
Orlando Pirates assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi has commented on their treble-winning season and the things the club had to endure and overcome.
It’s always good when you hear football loving people going across supporting lines,” Ncikazi told MSW.
“For me it’s belief that has been restored in the country, in the South African football. And maybe what makes me more proud is the fact that we did not only win trophies, but the way we did that with young players. I think we had the third youngest squad in the country.
“Opportunities for young players and a lot that happened, players that were lost in the beginning of the season, the central defence, the accident, the injury to Sihle [Ntuli], the injury to [Tapelo] Xoki. You lose a goalkeeper coach, the coach is injured, [Mbekezeli] Mbokazi gets a transfer.

“I know there was a lot of doubt but with us and still continuing to concede less goals than any other club. Sipho Chaine becoming the record holder of clean sheets but it’s when you have lost centre-backs mostly and defensive midfielder.
“For me it was how it was done more than just trophies on their own.”
