Orlando Pirates recently confirmed the signing of four players ahead of the new 2026/27 season.

Mthetheleli Mthiyane came in from Stellenbosch FC, Richards Bay’s Sbangani Zulu Bohale Ngwato, and Ghampani Lungu – both from Siwelele FC. Furthermore, the Soweto giants have reportedly brought Siwelele duo Neo Rapoo and Aphiwe Baliti, while Golden Arrows star Siyanda Ndlovu is on his way as well.

Coach Abdeslam Ouaddou gave the green light for the club to release Thabiso Lebitso, Bandile Shandu, Sipho Mbule, Tshegofatso Mabasa, Karim Kimvuidi, and Deivi Miguel Vieira, who is commonly referred to as Gilberto.

After winning the Premier Soccer League title for the first time in 14 years, the Sea Robbers are not yet done.

“Orlando Pirates have completed the signing of exciting midfielder Matome Mmolai from Leicesterford City FC to further bolster their squad for the 2026/27 season,” FARPost reported.

“The skilful midfielder has penned a deal with Pirates and will be part of the squad undergoing routine medicals this week before kick-starting pre-season training.

“Interestingly, Mmolai signed with TS Galaxy at the start of last season but was unable to feature in any official matches for the Rockets due to clearance issues. This was linked to Leicesterford, who had purchased the status of JDR Stars, where the 23-year-old was previously playing.

“Following his dazzling displays in the middle of the park—characterised by impressive ball-playing abilities and an eye for goal—Mmolai has now earned a big move to a star-studded Pirates side,” they added.
