Orlando Pirates Transfer News: Bucs announce shock exits & confirm new arrival

Premier Soccer League champions Orlando Pirates have confirmed the arrival of versatile midfielder Bheki Mabuza from Marumo Gallants on a permanent basis.

Mabuza was a key figure for Bahlabane Ba Ntwa last season, making 27 league appearances and an additional five in cup competitions, bringing his total to 32 matches. He has continued to feature this season, already playing in three league games.

The Buccaneers are looking for midfielders in the wake of Patrick Maswanganyi and Relebohile Mofokeng’s departure, which left them light, especially in the number 10 role.

He joins Mthetheleli Mthiyane (Stellenbosch FC), Sbangani Zulu (Richards Bay), Bohale Ngwato (Siwelele) Ghampani Lungu (Siwelele), Neo Rapoo (Siwelele), Aphiwe Baliti (Siwelele) & Matome Mmolai (Leicesterford City), Sebastian Pedersen (Sogndal Fotball, Norway) and Mohau Nkota (Al-Ettifaq, Saudi – Loan) in the squad.

The Soweto giants have further announced the departure of two players to create space for the new ones.

“Orlando Pirates Football Club is pleased to announce that an agreement has been reached with Marumo Gallants for the permanent transfer of Bheki Mabuza,” Bucs confirmed

“The move marks a return to familiar surroundings for Mabuza, who was previously part of the Buccaneers setup.

“During his time away from the Club, Mabuza made encouraging progress and impressed. His performances at Gallants convinced the Club that he is ready to return and take the next step in his career.

“Meanwhile, the club can also confirm that Daniel Msendami and Abdoulaye Mariko will move in the opposite direction, joining Marumo Gallants on season-long loan agreements,” they concluded.
