Orlando Pirates Transfer News: ‘I don’t see Oswin Appollis coming back!’

Orlando Pirates have been one of the busiest teams in the ongoing Premier Soccer League transfer window.

So far, the Sea Robbers have parted ways with  Relebohile Mofokeng, (Royale Union Saint-Gilloise), Gilberto, Karim Kimvuidi, Thabiso Lebitso (Stellenbosch), Tshegofatso Mabasa, Sipho Mbule, Bandile Shandu, Gomolemo Khoto (Sekhukhune United), Siyabonga Ndlozi (Sekhukhune United), Tshepho Mashiloane (Sekhukhune United, Loan), Thabiso Sesane (Siwelele FC), Selaelo Rasebotja (Siwelele FC), Siyabonga Ndlozi (Sekhukhune United), Gomolemo Khoto (Sekhukhune United), Sonwabo Khumalo (Midlands), Blessing Ngiba (Midlands), and Seth Green (Durban City).

They have brought in Mthetheleli Mthiyane (Stellenbosch FC), Sbangani Zulu (Richards Bay), Bohale Ngwato (Siwelele) Ghampani Lungu (Siwelele), Neo Rapoo (Siwelele), Aphiwe Baliti (Siwelele) and Matome Mmolai (Leicesterford City).

However, according to the club legend Steve Lekoelea, star attacker Oswin Appollis might be on his way out as well. The former Polokwane City attacker was not part of the Bafana Bafana team that returned home after Mzansi’s elimination as he opted to remain abroad for holidays.

Appollis done with Pirates’ chapter?

“No, maybe there’s a business going on, maybe there’s teams that want him, that’s why they are negotiating that side but they don’t want to make it public, as you know with contracts,” Lekoelea opined as reported by KickOff.

“But I don’t think he can do that thing of staying behind for a holiday. I don’t see him coming back to Pirates, it was his combination with Mofokeng and (Tshepang) Moremi (that won Pirates a treble).”

He further advised the new players, “The standard has been lifted at Pirates, the other players will look at that and when you go to Pirates, you will have to improve, because you saw that Pirates has just won the league, you can’t just not perform,” Lekoelea said.

“And you know Pirates supporters don’t have patience when the team is not performing, so you have to improve, you’re playing for a big team, a nation’s team,” he concluded.
