‘Mhlekazi’, as he is fondly known, has called it a day after serving the game for 17 years since breaking into professional football with University of Pretoria in 2007. He signed for Pirates two years later, before moving overseas to Belgian outfit K.V Oostende in 2014.
The combative midfielder last played for Chippa United during the 2025/26 after joining them from Mamelodi Sundowns.

For football legend Thabo Mngomeni this couldn’t be any truer. “Considering Mofokeng’s quality, he is likely to be subjected to intense public scrutiny. If he misplaces the ball twice, individuals react as if he has done so ten times. This is because high expectations are placed upon him.”
Mngomeni has recognised the significant expectations placed on Relebohile Mofokeng, cautioning the public not to be too hard on the talented youngster.

After losing 2-1 away at Charlotte FC on Sunday, it was a sixth consecutive league defeat for Carnell’s side. It is the worst start to the MLS season by a side that has won the Supporters’ Shield the previous term.
