After clinching a domestic treble and reclaiming the league title, the Soweto giants are determined to assemble a team capable of a strong title defence and a significant run in the CAF Champions League.
According to Soccer Laduma, Pirates are keen on reinforcing both their attack and defence before the transfer window closes. Among the names on their radar are Golden Arrows forwards Siyanda Ndlovu and Ayabulela Maxwele.
Both players had impressive seasons with Abafana Bes’thende, attracting attention from several clubs. While no deals are finalised, it is understood that Pirates have been monitoring the duo as part of their recruitment strategy to increase competition in the final third.

The club is preparing for the heavy demands of both domestic and continental football, which will test the squad’s depth in the coming months.
In defence, Polokwane City and Bafana Bafana player Thabang Matuludi is also said to be admired by the Pirates’ hierarchy. Matuludi has become one of the most consistent full-backs in the PSL and has earned international recognition, with his versatility and experience being key attributes.
Sources have noted that transfer discussions are still ongoing, with many clubs in the league actively looking to make signings before the new season kicks off. Nevertheless, the prevailing belief is that Pirates’ transfer business is far from complete.
