Pirates & Al Ahly share spoils after stalemate

Orlando Pirates and Al Ahly played out a tense 0-0 draw in their CAF Champions League Group C clash at Orlando Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The match was a fiery encounter, with both sides battling hard for every ball. Despite the high temperatures, the players displayed immense effort and commitment.

Al Ahly, the record 11-time champions, arrived in South Africa with a perfect record in the group stage. 

However, they were met with a determined Pirates side, who were looking to capitalize on their recent form.

While the game lacked clear-cut chances, there were moments of brilliance from both teams.

MBATHA COMING CLOSE TO SCORE WITH TWO LONG-RANGE EFFORTS

Thalente Mbatha came closest to breaking the deadlock with two long-range efforts that narrowly missed the target.

The defensive performances of both teams were impressive, with Sipho Chaine and Mohamed El-Shenawy making crucial saves to keep their respective sides in the game.

With this result, Al Ahly remain top of the group with four points, while Pirates are second on the same points tally. 

Both teams will be hoping to secure crucial victories in their next matches to strengthen their positions in the group.
