Orlando Pirates appear poised to sign another promising young player from Mpumalanga, having reportedly outpaced several other PSL clubs in the race for his signature.
The youngster caught the attention of scouts during the annual Pirates Cup tournament held in Johannesburg over the Easter holidays.
As per KickOff, the Soweto giants are reportedly preparing an offer for the talented Tebatso Letsoalo after he delivered a standout performance for his team, eMalahleni United, during the competition.

Letsoalo’s impressive displays did not go unnoticed, with clips of his performance gaining traction on social media. This also attracted the interest of TS Galaxy, who are said to be monitoring the young player’s progress.
However, reports indicate that the Buccaneers have already initiated contact with eMalahleni United to bring Letsoalo to Gauteng for the upcoming season.
Orlando Pirates make formal approach
“There are a number of teams that are interested,” a source revealed to KickOff. “Pirates have made formal contact. They have always enjoyed a good relationship with eMalahleni United, especially after signing Sbusiso Tau from them a few years ago, who was also spotted during the Pirates Cup.”

eMalahleni United has a strong track record of developing talent for the professional leagues. The club has produced several players now active in the PSL, including Kwanele Alfred of Lerumo Lions and Thokozani Sibanyoni, who plays for Kruger United.
Another former eMalahleni United player, midfielder Itumeleng Mokoneni, who featured in last year’s Pirates Cup, has since joined Ubombo Sugar FC in the Eswatini Premier League.
