PSL club chasing signature of ex-Kaizer Chiefs star Keagan Dolly

In a major statement of intent, the second-tier side Cape Town City is reportedly keen on an ambitious move to sign Bafana Bafana star Keagan Dolly ahead of the 2025/26 season, according to iDiski Times.

The 32-year-old winger, currently without a club after parting ways with TS Galaxy, is a primary target for the Citizens as they look to secure an immediate return to the top flight.

Cape Town City, which suffered a shock relegation via the playoffs last season, is in the midst of a significant squad rebuild. The club sees Dolly as a potential leader and a key figure to anchor their new-look team. His experience and quality on the wing are viewed as crucial assets for a team determined to dominate the second tier.

The club has already been active in the transfer market, securing several high-profile players to form a new spine for the squad.

Their new recruits include goalkeeper Mickey van der Hart, defenders Sifiso Ngobeni (from Mamelodi Sundowns) and Njabulo Ngcobo (from Sekhukhune United), and striker Simon van Duivenbooden.

The potential addition of Dolly would not only add immense talent but also provide valuable leadership and top-flight experience to a squad adjusting to life in the second division.

Dolly is currently with the South Africa national team at CHAN. His availability as a free agent makes him an attractive prospect for clubs, but Cape Town City appears to be the most serious contender for his signature.

The club's desire for an immediate return to the top tier is driving this ambitious approach, as they believe Dolly’s influence could be the difference-maker in a highly competitive league.

For Dolly, a move to Cape Town City would offer a clear path to regular playing time and a central role in a team's project. While he is likely to have interest from other clubs, the prospect of being the main man in an ambitious side could prove to be an enticing proposition.
