With the 2024/25 PSL season kicking off in less than three weeks, while most clubs are unveiling new partnerships and signings, AmaZulu FC has announced the departure of two of its main sponsors.

The club’s president Sandile Zungu confirmed that SPAR who has been in partnership with Usuthu for over four decades will no longer be on the front of their jersey as they have ended their association.

Meanwhile, Grindrod who was their sleeve sponsor has also left, ending a four-year partnership with the KZN-based club.

AMAZULU FC CONFIRM THE EXITS OF TWO MAIN SPONSORS

“There has been a couple of rumours about the sponsorship of SPAR. SPAR has been a critical part of AmaZulu for four decades,” Zungu told the media.

“It’s probably the longest run as a sponsor of the DStv Premiership team or a top-flight team in this country. Our relationship with SPAR came to an end at the end of last season.

“For that, we owe SPAR a great deal of gratitude for having associated with the team and their contribution. Their financial contribution went a long way in helping this brand to run. But all great things come to an end.

“This same goes with Grindrod who were our sleeve sponsor, our relationship came to an end last season. We won’t be replacing them.

“We have great ideas that we will reveal at the end of this month.”

Meanwhile, Zungu confirmed the club would announce a new sponsor at the end of the month along with new players.

USUTHU TO ANNOUNCE NEW SPONSOR AT THE END OF THE MONTH

“When we next meet at the end of July, we will be revealing our new signings and hopefully we can do it in style,” added Zungu.

“We have great players we have signed, and those that we are concluding the signings of. Some have travelled with the team to Gauteng.

“We will also be revealing our exciting new sponsorship deal for the team and the new kit for the team.”
